    Planning decision for National Park Authority-owned camping and caravan site
    The Peak District National Park Authority’s planning committee today (Friday 7 February) granted planning permission for a touring camping and caravan site at Brosterfield, near the village of Foolow, in Derbyshire.

    Volunteers brave the elements to plant sphagnum moss
    A major planting project in the Staffordshire Moorlands will help to improve water quality and create more species-rich moors. Staff and volunteers from the South West Peak Landscape Partnership took part in a week-long sphagnum moss planting project.

    First projects receive funding through new Peak District National Park Foundation
    Wildlife, hedgerow conservation and hydro electricity projects are the first to benefit from funds through the new Peak District National Park Foundation. Grants have been awarded through the Foundation’s #70kfor70 campaign, which launched during National Parks Week in April.

    Peak District is breath of fresh air for refugees and asylum seekers
    Refugees and asylum seekers pulled on their wellies to enjoy their first experience of the Peak District National Park. The visit was organised by Peak District National Park ranger Sally Wheal and colleagues Rob Kenning and Pete Bush, along with Derby-based charity Derbyshire Refugee Solidarity (DRS).

    Awards for green Peak District businesses
    Businesses which support their local community, economy and environment were honoured at a Peak District awards ceremony and networking event. Six new Environmental Quality Mark awards were presented to Peak District businesses which support and play an active role in their local economy, work to reduce their environmental impact and help to celebrate, conserve and enhance the Peak District National Park.

    Repeated break-ins put Dovedale facilities at risk
    The Peak District National Park Authority has warned that a spate of break-ins and thefts from its Dovedale public toilets could put the facility at risk of closure. The public toilets, based at the popular car park at Dovedale between Ilam and Thorpe, recently suffered their fourth incident this year.
